NEMEAN SOLUTIONS RECEIVES 4th HIRE VETS MEDALLION AWARD FROM THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF LABOR

9 November, 2023, Sierra Vista, AZ - U.S. Acting Secretary of Labor Julie A. Su recognized Nemean Solutions, LLC (Nemean) as one of the 859 recipients of the 2023 HIRE Vets Medallion Award during a virtual award ceremony presented by U.S. Department of Labor. Nemean earned the platinum award after applying earlier this year. The Honoring Investments in Recruiting and Employing American Military Veterans Act (HIRE Vets Act) Medallion Program is the only federal award program that recognizes employers who successfully recruit, hire, and retain veterans.

“Nemean was founded by me and Craig (Craig Mount, President, Co-Owner) as a veteran-led organization. As veterans, we understand the value of investing in our nation’s military veterans and their spouses. We applied for the HIRE Vets program because we believe that building a strong military veteran workforce gives Nemean an edge and because we know what we are getting when we hire a military veteran or a veteran’s spouse. This is our fourth award, and third year in a row as a platinum award recipient, and our first as a company that exceeds over 100 full time employees. We are grateful for the national recognition we received by the U.S. Department of Labor for our unwavering commitment to recruiting, hiring, and retaining our nation’s military veterans”, said Nemean Solutions’ CEO, Simon E. Ortiz.

Chris Wegner, Nemean Chief Operating Officer stated, "After 29 years of active-duty service in the United States Air Force, I was accustomed to being around teammates who were mission-focused and working at something bigger than themselves; namely, service to our Nation. I've had that same feeling at Nemean, in large part to our commitment to hiring Veteran employees. The HIRE Vets recognition is further testament to our warrior ethos and how much we value creating opportunities for those who've served. We are humbled, honored, and thankful for the Platinum award once again."

"As a retired US Army First Sergeant, I understand the importance of recruiting, hiring and retaining our veterans.  I am proud to be part of Nemean and as the Director of Recruiting and Retention I get to firsthand interact with all of our employees, from recruitment to job placement,” said Armando Barnhart. “Supporting the Soldier for Life/Transition Assistance Program and using organizations such as the Global SOF Foundation and Virginia Values Veterans (V3), and others, have been huge enablers for successfully hiring and retaining military veterans."

Nemean joins 858 other companies from 49 states, plus the District of Columbia, who have shown a commitment to hiring veterans, but also ensuring that they have a long-term career and growth plan that uses the diverse skills they acquired through their military service. Recipients of the 2023 HIRE Vets Medallion Award meet rigorous employment and veteran integration assistance criteria, including veteran hiring and retention percentages; availability of veteran-specific resources; leadership programming for veterans; dedicated human resource efforts; pay compensation and tuition assistance programs for veterans.
