Nemean Solutions earns 5th Consecutive HIRE Vets Award
/1 November 2024 – U.S. Acting Secretary of Labor Julie A. Su recognized Nemean Solutions (Nemean) as one of the 839 recipients of the 2024 HIRE Vets Medallion Award during a virtual award ceremony presented by U.S. Department of Labor. Nemean earned the Platinum Award after applying earlier this year. The Honoring Investments in Recruiting and Employing American Military Veterans Act (HIRE Vets Act) Medallion Program is the only federal award program that recognizes employers who successfully recruit, hire, and retain veterans.
“This year we are extremely honored to receive the HIRE Vets Platinum Medallion award. This marks the fourth year in a row we have been a Platinum Award recipient and our second year in a row as a Medium Size Company. Being a military veteran myself and a co-owner of Nemean we understand the value of investing in our nation’s military veterans and their spouses. We applied for the HIRE-Vets program because we believe that building a strong military veteran workforce gives Nemean a competitive edge and because we know well the caliber of employee we are getting when we hire a military veteran or a veteran’s spouse. We are grateful for the national recognition we received by the U.S. Department of Labor for our unwavering commitment to recruiting, hiring, and retaining our nation’s military veterans,” said Nemean CEO, Simon E. Ortiz.
“It's a distinct honor to receive the HIRE Vets platinum award again this year. The Veteran members of our workforce see in Nemean an opportunity to continue service to our Nation and our military communities. They represent the best part of our focus on Unbreakable Values and Superior Solutions,” said Nemean COO, Chris Wegner.
“I am proud of Nemean Solutions for being recognized for this award. Having served and understanding the uncertainty that veterans experience when they transition into the civilian workforce is a feeling myself and Nemean’s leadership can relate to. It’s a great honor to be able to give back to our veterans as they have sacrificed so much for us and this great country. I look forward to being part of Nemean’s growth and having veterans/veteran’s spouses be part of this wonderful company, “said Nemean Director of Recruitment, Armando Barnhart.
Nemean joins 838 other companies from 49 states, plus the District of Columbia, who have shown a commitment to hiring veterans, but also ensuring that they have a long-term career and growth plan that uses the diverse skills they acquired through their military service.
