Nemean Solutions earns SBA 8(a) Certification
/September 18, 2019 - Nemean Solutions has successfully earned its SBA 8(a) Certification and is now officially an SBA 8(a) company. This effort was started just over two years ago and was completed on 17 September, 2019. Nemean Solutions will have access to the program for the next nine years - ending 17 September, 2028. The addition of the 8(a), makes Nemean Solutions a certified 8(a) and SDVOSB small business.
The SBA 8(a) program, or the 8(a) Business Development Program, allows qualified companies access to a number of benefits. As cited on www.sba.gov, the 8(a) program benefits are:
“To help provide a level playing field for small businesses owned by socially and economically disadvantaged people or entities, the government limits competition for certain contracts to businesses that participate in the 8(a) Business Development program.”
Disadvantaged businesses in the 8(a) program can:
Compete for set-aside and sole-source contracts in the program
Get a Business Opportunity Specialist to help navigate federal contracting
Form joint ventures with established businesses through the SBA's mentor-protégé program
Receive management and technical assistance, including business training, counseling, marketing assistance, and high-level executive development
