Database Administration/Programmer (Senior)

Shall provide senior Database Administration/Programmer support to six other sites with troubleshooting and guidance on database problems. The senior Database Administrator (DBA) is responsible for the performance, integrity and security of the Tier 1 and ancillary database in support of the Tier 1 operations.

Location: Fort Huachuca, AZ (no travel is expected)

Requirements:

Bachelors in Computer Science degree and a minimum of eight years’ experience in database administration.

Oracle Database 11g/12c Administrator Certified Associate (OCA)

Level II IAT

Ability to obtain an Oracle Database 11g/12c Administrator Certified Professional (OCP) certificate or higher within the first 180 days of employment (Note: Company will help provide support for obtaining this certification)

A minimum five years’ experience in Oracle Advance Replication and Procedural Structure Query Language (PL/SQL)

Ability to obtain an Oracle Advanced PL/SQL Developer Certified Associate/equivalent or higher certification within the first 180 days of employment (Note: Company will help provide support for obtaining this certification)

Have experience with development in Microsoft Access and Excel products

Have a minimum of five years’ experience with programming in Visual Basic for Application (VBA).

Have a minimum of seven years’ experience with UNIX or Linux products. The DBA shall obtain a Linux + certificate or equivalent within the first 180 days of employment Note: Company will help provide support for obtaining this certification)

Shall have and maintain a Top Secret clearance

Duties:

Perform duties as senior Database Administrator (DBA) daily, during core activity business hours to monitor and maintain the health of the database and other support automation. The DBA shall record all system anomalies. Oversee the development of operational contingency plans for the recovery of existing and emerging databases in case of catastrophic failure at any of the six sites. The DBAshall assist in the restoration in the event of outage, up to and including after-hours support as required. The DBA shall provide senior technical and automation support for existing and emerging systems.

Upon request, the DBA shall provide input to other system planning efforts. The DBA shall assist government personnel in identifying any technical gaps or current challenges with infrastructure operations requiring additional Nondisclosure Agreements (NDA).

The DBA shall provide technical assistance to resolve complex database issues at Army, Air Force, and Navy COMSEC accounts and support system operators in identifying and resolving data discrepancies. The DBA shall identify, report, and resolve discrepancies in the operations of software components for multi-service system management boards. The DBA shall provide technical input to system management boards, as requested.

The DBA shall identify and make modifications to automation programs as required by the system management boards. The DBA shall provide advice of programming changes, transaction processing, business logic, and error handling required to make programs more effective.

The DBA shall assist in the development of Microsoft Office products in support of automated management of the systems; development of such Microsoft Office product include but are not limited to Excel spreadsheets, Access databases and Power Point reports for automated management of the functions of systems. The DBA shall develop and produce ad hoc SQL query reports in support of COMSEC functions of the systems.

The DBA shall assist in developing and providing briefings and reports on database management.

The DBA shall ensure senior DBA input and attendance to various working groupsas requested by the government lead.

The DBA shall assist with determining the priority and disposition of Deficiency Reports (DR) as it relates to operation and emerging systems.

At the request of the Government Lead, the DBA shall ensure support is provided to Tier 1 Operator Regression Testing (ORT) and General System Tests (GST), and other tests.

The DBA shall serve as the senior technical expert, source of Database Administrator expertise, and focal point concerning IT security/information assurance and COMSEC collateral data management procedures and planning, programs and initiatives. Shall serve as the senior technical expert; to plan, develop, implement and maintain automation security programs and software operational procedures to ensure the confidentiality integrity, and availability of systems, data quality, consistent electronic key distribution, and data/information spanning the planning, analysis, development, implementation and maintenance phases of the program. The DBA, upon request, shall provide input to other planning efforts. The DBA shall assist government personnel in identifying any technical gaps or current challenges with infrastructure operations that could be addressed by the development team.

Shall assist in the documentation of threat and vulnerability assessments, reports, threats, and technical vulnerabilities. The DBA shall identify and assess risks, determine and implement effective measures to minimize such risks.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $100,000 to 130,000 /year depending on experience.
